Femke Vandenberg

Femke Vandenberg is an Assistant Professor of Cultural Sociology at the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, where she does research and lectures about therole of music in society, particularly focusing on the audience experience of live (digitally mediated) music. 

Her PhD dissertation focused on the fast-developing online music scene and the impact on audience behavior. She has published widely in international scientific journals on these subjects and presented her research to both academic and public audiences. 

Since 2019 she has also been an executive board member of the International Association for the Study of Popular Music (IASPM), Benelux branch.
